We are known for our small, personalized classes with instructors who take the time to understand each student's strengths and identify areas for improvement. Our methods are proven to help those of all ages and skill levels learn music and instrumentation while deepening their love for music overall.

Andrew

Andrew has done extensive music study at Mercer University, Townsend School of Music, as well as studying at Georgia State University where he obtained a Masters in Music. He also studied at SUNY Purchase Music Conservatory and graduated with a Musical Artist Diploma. Andrew started studying piano 16 years ago and has played the clarinet and saxophone for over 14 years. He states that the most important thing he takes away from music instruction is the joy in the student’s eyes when they “get it”. He loves the breakthroughs that music offers his students when learning music.

Ariel

Playing Piano and Voice for over 20 years, Ariel has been with KTS Music School for over 5 years. She graduated Adelphi University with a BA in Vocal Performance and Piano. What Ariel says she enjoys the most about KTS Music is the community in which she serves. She loves the support of the school staff and feels the teaching environment has fostered not only her professional growth but the growth of her students as well.

Brian

Playing piano since he was 6 years, Brian has a BA in music from the Grinnell College, Iowa. He now lives in Brooklyn and has been with KTS music for over 8 years. What Brian says he loves most is adapting his lesson approach to individual styles of learning and above all Brian enjoys having fun!

Donald (DJ)

Donald has been playing piano since the age of six. He learnt and developed his passion here at The KTS Music School. He is currently attending York College receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Music. DJ has played in numerous venues as well as solo recitals, High School and College band, and his passion is playing for Hillsong, NYC Church.

Greg

Greg (on the right) started playing the piano at age 7 and continued taking lessons until High School when he began playing for special events. After High School he joined his College Jazz band which later formed into a professional big band. Greg has been with us for 7 years and we’re glad he has committed his talents to teaching the language of music to our students.

Ms. Jackie

Ms. Jackie has been sharing her love of music with us for the past six years with no end in sight. She is passionate about working with children and has taught piano to children and adults for the past 12 years. She enjoys challenging her students to do their best and believes that anyone can learn to play an instrument.

Nathan

Nathan graduated from the New School for Jazz & Contemporary Music and has been with KTS since the Spring of 2015. Versed in all areas of musical instrumentation, he’s been playing multiple instruments for over 14 years. Nathan tells us what he finds so rewarding about musical instruction is “seeing a student grow with their musical talents while helping them find the joy of music”.

Pia

A lifelong musician, Pia attended the Third Street Music School from 1995-2007 graduating with a Senior Advance Diploma in piano performance. She studied classical piano under Edu Loayza & Marcia Lewis as well as having studied voice with the guidance of William Dickerson. Among her many musical accomplishments, Pia lead a sextet at the 24th Annual Young Musician’s Concert at the Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center.

Scott has been with KTS since the fall of 2013. He graduated from Purchase and Hunter College with a Music Associates degree and has been playing piano for 17 years. He is very talented, also playing, guitar, bass, cello and viola. The most important thing for Scott is the “development of analytic and problem solving skills that apply to all areas of life and learning” that comes with music education.

Travis

Travis has been with KTS since the Spring of 2015 and has studied at City College of New York where he received his minor in music education. Practicing piano for over 28 years, he finds great happiness knowing that he is helping his students create special moments with their families and friends as he has with his own.
